The role of the SO-CHIC Dissemination Board is to support the project in gaining new ideas on how to efficiently engage with stakeholders, attract more users and identify ways to improve usage of data and information from society to science. The Dissemination Board will contribute to the evaluation of SO-CHIC dissemination and communication activities that informs updates to the Dissemination and Communication Plan and final report on dissemination and communication activities at the end of the project.

The SO-CHIC Dissemination Board is composed of project partners EPB, ETT and SU. During the planned annual updates to the SO-CHIC Dissemination and Communication Plan, the Dissemination Board will together assess the effectiveness of activities and suggest changes to the planned activities as needed. This assessment will be based upon information gathered from project partners, feedback gathered from stakeholders, input from the communications departments of project partner organisations, and online analytics information.

SO-CHIC dissemination and communication activities to date have included the development of the project’s public website and a web portal for partners to share project information and documents. A visual identity for the project, including logo in different formats and PowerPoint presentation template has also been completed. The first SO-CHIC webinar was held in April 2020, attracting over 200 individual viewers and many subsequent views of the webinar recording via YouTube. The project is also maintaining an active presence on social media sites Twitter and Instagram. Further communication activities continue to progress, including the development of SO-CHIC flyers and other materials. All dissemination and communication activities are continually monitored for effectiveness, with this information due to be analysed by the Dissemination Board ahead of the updating of the Dissemination and Communication Plan, to be published in 2021.
